About

“There is no such thing as normal. Normal, if anything, is just an average. Who wants to be average? Personally, I don’t intend to be!“

A friend recently called me a Motivational Coach, and I realised at that moment that I had been doing that my whole life. Being a soft place to land when life hits the inevitable rough patches. Building people up, helping them feel confident and courageous so they can take steps to improve their own lives. Even at school I was helping my friends by being empathetic and suggesting alternative ways of viewing situations to find the best way forward and remove the pressure.

I have always had the ability to see situations in a different way. Life is definately not as black and white as we can make it out to be in our minds – and lets be fair, we as humans do like to self sabotage!

I took that caring, compassion and empathy into the work place. Colleagues would come to me and find themselves pouring out their vulnerabilities due to how comfortable they felt – even if it had not been their intention to do so when the conversation started. People understand quickly that I will listen with an open heart and open mind, asking curious questions and offering different viewpoints to difficult situations.

As my role moved into team (servant) leadership roles, I learnt and developed techniques to help people navigate their imposter, remain calm under pressure, build their confidence, manage conflict, show their value, achieve their goals and influence to the best of their abilities. I upskilled in individual and team ways of working methods that recognise both the system and the individual pressures. And I tried them all myself, to build my own tools library – some of which you can find for free in my resources section.

Over my many years of coaching, I have found that the traditional stance of coach can be be limiting. My coaching style ranges from coaching to mentoring to advice giving – though only when the coachee is open to it. Every session starts with grounding to clear the space in our hearts, minds and bodies for clear thinking and focus – while the sessions may be focusing on real world issues, you still need space to work through the issues.

My life, much like yours I’m sure, has had its ups and downs. When my child was born I was driven to research sustainability. The desire to help make the world a better place for my child was, and still is at times, overwhelming. Through my own learning journey I realised that while the future can only be sustainable and regenerative – its starts with me and you. The future needs us to think and be different with ourselves, others and the natural systems that we rely upon. We need clear heads, embodied hearts and curious spirits to navigate the complxity of the ever changing world around us – and I can help you with that.

I upgraded to Pirate status last year when due to Type 1 diabetes complications causing a retinal detachment and bad luck meaning I am part of the 5% of people who’s vision has not recovered following surgery (multiple). It has allowed me to truly embrace Sufficiency as a value, enabling me to see the beauty in simplicity rather than complex, and further embracing natures daily gifts to feel joy in life.
