To help you find calmer waters

And just breathe!
What to do right now:
Circles of Concern
Try out this short exercise – it’ll take ten to twenty minutes. You can do it over your morning coffee, on your lunch break, or before you go to bed.
The Circles of Concern tool helps you to identify what’s within your power to change or repair, where and how you can affect or persuade without power – and where you are needlessly placing worry. This helps you to separate what is immediately within your sphere from what is within your community, and community from systemic problems, cultivating the understanding that exerting our power and energy where we can will help to transform the concerns we cannot immediately and profoundly affect right now. **

Grounding
Before you dive back into your inbox, try this. Right now:
Plant your feet. Feel the floor. All of it. Heels, balls, toes. You’re here. You’re solid.
Close your eyes, Three deep breaths. Following your own natural breath, deeper each time
Let the tension flow out. From the top of your head, relax each muscle and let the stress out via your feet, into the ground.
That’s it. You just reconnected to your body. To your ecosystem through your feet. To this moment. To something other than the constant fire-fighting.
Do this three times today. Before difficult meetings. Before decisions. Before you check email. And if this grounding technique isn’t working for you, I have many more! Get in touch.
This is how we start every coaching session.
Not with your to-do list. Not with problem-solving. With grounding.
Close your eyes. Relax. Sit back comfortably. Centre yourself in your body before we begin anything else.
Cord Cutting
Do you feel like there is something in your past that is holding you back? A bad experience or a difficult relationship that means you react in a certain way or that stops you from doing things you want? Like a weight on your shoulders that even while you are not consciously thinking of it, it drags you down? While these cords are not visible to the eye, they can still hold you back and stop you from being all that you can be.
Cord cutting is a powerful meditation that helps you find and let go of these traumatic experiences or relationships, allowing you too feel more at peace, to act rather than react and in a way that you want – rather than be triggered inadvertently. It is a technique that combines visualisation and intention, enabling you to direct your energy to release what is holding you back. It does not cause pain or discomfort to you or the person you are freeing yourself of – if that is indeed a person and not a belief or situation. It can drain your energy if you put a lot of effort into the exercise, leaving you tired.
Feel free to look this up yourself, and try some of the exercises on YouTube. Here is one that I like to use, though stopping at around 7 minutes may be preferable to you, prior to the deep meditation. Enjoy!
